Prize winning, fine food producers are set to showcase their wares at the first in a series of  Lancashire Markets organised by the Business Improvement District (BID.)

The atmospheric market, the first of which will be meandering throughout the length of Friargate Brow on August 21st 2010, provides an opportunity to buy quality local produce in a relaxed and welcoming environment.  It will also present an opportunity to visit the many independent and unusual shops, which are so much a part of the experience when shopping in Preston at that end of the city.  There'll be a raft of city-wide promotions throughout the city centre on Market day - check the "City Centre Promotions" page for more information (updated daily.)

There'll be the traditional wares on sale coupled with some rather unusual Lancashire produce.....check the "Producers" page for more detailed information on what is available on the day.

From Real Ale to Ostrich, from Chicken to Cheese and everything in between.  The Lancashire Market is a true gastronomic delight.

The Lancashire Market will offer a wonderful array of produce including freshly baked delicacies, tasty cheeses, locally cured meats and exclusive dairy products to tempt your taste-buds!    You'll also have the opportunity to sample real Lancashire Ales too (age permitting.)

The Markets will also showcase local chefs, live food demonstrations and extensive entertainment for all the family from marching bands to shire horses and everything in between.  We've also teamed up with Lancashire's Central Radio 106.5fm to broadcast live on the day!

Some of the region's top chefs will also be conducting cookery demonstrations live on the day, using fine ingredients available from the Market.
